Ashley believes that body issues can be resolved by addressing them properly through the method of Pilates and embodiment. She first took a Pilates class as a teenager with her mother. She witnessed the healing of her mom's back pain and was impressed by Pilates ability to heal. Recognizing Pilates rehabilitative properties, Ashley knew she wanted a future career in the field. She studied Pilates with Wendy LeBlanc Arbuckle at the Pilates Center of Austin. In 2006, she completed Wendy's Core Connections Pilates 650 hour Certification program. Ashley has taught Pilates since 2006 and has studied yoga since 2009. She has cultivated an intuitive teaching style as a unique blend of Pilates, Yin Yoga, Hatha Yoga, and Meditation.
Ashley's yoga career began a few years later in 2009 when she regularly attended yoga classes for stress relief and the calming effects yoga has on the nervous system. In January 2016, Ashley completed her 200 hour Yoga Yoga Hatha Certification led by Rachel Hector. She later completed the Yin Yoga Advanced Teacher Training led by Jenn Wooten and Laura Forsyth.
Ashley has a genuine curiosity for functional movement and how it relates to health and considers herself a lifetime student of learning about the mind body connection. Ashley has taught full time for over ten years at numerous studios in Austin, TX including Mecca Gym & Spa, University of Texas at Austin, Apple, Pilates 360, and in home Private sessions.
